Prime Minister Kishida announced in London today that Japan plans to bring its border policy in line with the other G7 nations from June onwards. Details are scarce but it looks like only group tours will be admitted first, but we expect independent travelers to be welcomed soon after that (in keeping with other G7 nations).
Here’s the Japan Times story. I’ll put updates on InsideKyoto as soon as we have more details. I will also keep you informed with this newsletter.
Chris, are the tours you set up able to come into Japan at this moment? Or do you work with a tour company? I contacted A&K for any possibilities for next month for a party of 4 persons (2 couples to travel to Tokyo, Kyoto and Okinawa...our niece lives in Okinawa, but A&K did not have any options)
Thanks so much Christ.
